Hello internet. I need some help. *

One of the reasons I lurve the internet is because you can answer just about any question you might have. Or someone else can answer it for you.

So I need some new jeans. For years the long and lean was my standard. Then I had kids. Then I was poor and fat. And now I'm slightly less poor and less fat. So I'd like to go back to nicer jeans. The Long and Lean just doesn't fit me right anymore. (Not to bore you with details or anything but I think it's because I used to wear ONLY heels so my jeans could be longer and now I wear ONLY flats so even the ankle length is too long.) (I know. You are GLUED to your computer screen right now wondering where I'm going next. Socks? Tank tops?) I went to The Gap and everything there is either a) ultra skinny minnie jeans or b) jeggings. Which, really, I fail to see the difference but apparently there is one.

So here is the criteria: Must come in dark wash; Must not be insanely expensive (because I have $700 boots to buy so I can't be spending $300 on jeans); Must be for someone approaching 30.

So, tell me, what jeans do you love?

*Abbreviated version of this whole post: I need some new jeans. Where do you get yours and do you like them?

I'm a cheapie and get them at Old Navy. Although before I was married I bought a really nice pair of AG jeans from The Lime Leopard at Northpark Mall. Then my dog (then a puppy) at a hole in them. Then I got fat and didn't want to waste money on expensive jeans. I also bought a pair of Citizens off of Ebay for less than a hundred dollars.
Abbreviated version of my comment: I'm no help.

I'm a big fan of the trouser jeans. They are super cute and flatter everybody. Ann Taylor Loft has some great trouser jeans. Oh, and get Colin to sign up for the teacher discount there - 15% off everytime you shop!

Emily, I too love the Long and Lean. I recently discovered the petite sizes, which fit even better (I have to order them online though, haven't seen them in the store). I also STILL have the problem of them being too long for flats, so I get them tailored. It's not that expensive. I figure if they fit like a glove, it's totally worth it.

I bought Meronas from target after I had Cooper, they were perfect length, $20 bucks, and had just the right amount of stretch!

I love the Old Navy Sweetheart Jean! They even come in petite which are perfect for flats (i'm 5'1")... the average length in regular are great for boots or heels! they fit great and are a good price!

I am certainly not the person to ask on this one. My criteria? Do they fit, can I sit in them and are they comfortable. Period. Do I care how they look - not really. And I'm sure anyone at the Kcofc would gladly confirm the same. I've moved from tht demographic of "what will people think..." to "who cares what people think...". I guess I'm one martini from Maxine - but since I'll never have that martini, I'm safe. Whew!

Having said all that, for some reason I can buy Jen perfectly fitting designer jeans from Nordstrom Rack - "those who cannot wear, buy for others" I guess - and if you ever have access to a Rack, get a sitter and GO! Fabulosity at reasonable prices.

May the force be with you.

I have to buy mine at The Buckle. It's the only place I've found that makes jeans for people that have a butt and legs. But I also have to tell the sales people...NO HOLES in the jeans. I mean, the holes are cool if I were going to a club or college. However, I'm going to work. My boss does not want to see what color underwear I'm wearing.

Also, Ann Taylor Loft has good jeans, but I'm always too tall for their jeans. They would probably be perfect for you.

Both jeans are around $70. Happy hunting. I've been in this spot and it's kind of frustrating/annoying/makes you hate the world.

Ross has designer jean sales usually in the fall, I got a pair of Lucky's for $30 there and then went had had them hemmed for $10 but at $40 I still saved a lot of money.

I just read How Never to Look Fat Again, and really, it has changed my perspective on clothes.

I've just done a HUGE purge of my closet - so monumental that I may even blog about it.

Anyway, the book has tons of useful tips and brand recommendations. I suggest checking it out at the library (I'm a Kindle addict).

I LOVE Nine West jeans, I have never found jeans that fit as well as those. I found some at Macy's and some at Steinmart they're around $50 I think, which is the most I think I've ever spent on jeans. I have 4 pair and I wear them all the time...
