I'm anal about what my kids wear, ok? There! I freely admit it! Guess what? I even iron their clothes. Shut up, I have a disease.

In case you don't follow my ramblings on Facebook, then you may not now I'm going out of town this weekend with 12 other lovely ladies for a husband/kid-free weekend to Canton, Texas. So, in leaving the kids with Colin and the in-laws, I packed a ziploc for each kid for Saturday, Sunday Church and Sunday night. Because, seriously, HEAVEN FORBID I trust Colin to do it.

I'm not going to lie. If I it was only Cason, I most likely would leave it to Colin. But since I have a girl now, these things cannot be left to fate. Bows and shoes that match and compliment are very important. I asked Colin if he wanted a lesson in how to do Kendall's hair. He said no. So I'm leaving a headband for her to wear to church. If you see her on Sunday morning, please know that her mama is out of town. My sister in law said she thinks she can handle doing Kendall's hair and I trust her (laini, don't let me down!!).

Colin is good at dressing himself so I think I can leave that to him.

I do realize that I don't know Jon and Kate + 8. I don't know Jon. I don't know Kate. But I do watch their show. I used to hate it. But I watched it. Now I love it. And now they are having marital problems. And I feel like they are friends of mine having marital problems.

But they're not.

And I watched the season premiere last night (today) and it was woefully awkward. I felt terrible for them and what they are going through. A friend and I have been emailing today about it.

I suppose if you don't watch the show or you are one of those people that (gasp! how do you survive?) don't have cable, this will not interest you in the least. Here are some of my thoughts:

Is it obvious to anyone else that Jon needs a job? He liked working. He should go back to work. Secondly, here is the thing about the show: It's like our life but bigger. It's loud like our house, but louder. It's frustrating like our house but more so. It takes a lot to keep our household going. Just like theirs. So when Kate was talking about the frustrations of being a "working mom" (so to speak) I think most people can relate to what she is saying. But there were some points, when I wanted to say, "Kate, honey, get over yourself." Just like there were points when I wanted to say, 'Jon, dear, get over yourself." Seriously, both of you. get over yourselves. It seems to me that they've already checked out. I hope for the sake of their children, they go to counseling and do everything they can to stay together.

As my friend said, "What a great message that would be. That divorce is not the only option." And how true is that?

Dear Jon and Kate Gosselin: (And I'm pretty sure they DO read my blog)

Please stay together for the sake of America.
Thank you!

Ems

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Last Friday, we had some errands to run and I told Cason that if he was good we would go to Taco Bueno and then go eat and play at the park. He was good so I stayed true to my word.

The park that we usually go to is great. It's brand new and there is a ton of stuff for the kids to play on. There is also a toddler section. On this particular day. when we first drove in, I saw that it looked a bit busy. At first I thought it must be an elementary school having an end of the year party. Then I saw a huge banner that read, "Senior Citizen Community Outreach Day." That place was packed with seniors. There was no leaving because a) I had already told Cason that's what we were doing and b) I couldn't get out of the parking lot because of the ten (ten!) charter buses, plus nursing home vans, etc.

So we got out, joined the senior citizens, ate our lunch and played. They had a band playing some old timey music. Cason said, "They're playin' Mater's song!" All in all it was a great trip and it didn't matter at all that there were 200+ senior citizens there. One lady even told me she would take the kids home with her. I offered to load them up in her car for her.

On Sunday, two people were shot at the park. I'm sorry to be so abrupt about it, but I didn't know else to broach the subject. It kind of freaked me out a little. I drove by on the way to the store and saw the police, news crews and police tape. Now, the shooting wasn't random. BUT STILL! I suppose I really do live in the ghetto.

Here are some pictures from our possible last trip to the park:

Geese are funny. At least Kendall thinks so. Look at all the adorable entries at www.iheartfaces.com. Although, how can you be more adorable than this (my photography skills aside...rolling my eyes)? I love that website but have never entered. I knew when I saw that this week's theme was "Laughter" I had to enter this.

Here is what my day looked like yesterday:

6:45 - Wake up, shower, eat breakfast, get ready for school.

7:30 - Wake up both kids, make them breakfast.

8:00- Put both kids in the bath. They had syrup at breakfast. I think you understand.

8:30 - Everyone is ready. We're out the door.

8:30 - 2:30 - School.

2:30 - 4:30 - Stay after school to plan field trips with Chrissey.

4:30 - Return clothes to Old Navy ( yes, I returned the outfit. between Mother's Day gifts, bridal shower gifts and teacher gifts, there was no point in keeping the clothes.). It takes forever because the guy couldn't find a t-shirt I bought on the ticket. Even though I was telling him where it was.

5:00 - Head to baseball game. No, we haven't been home yet.

5:30 - 7:30 - Ball game.

7:30 - Game goes into extra innings. Yay.

7:30 - 8:15 - More ball game!

8:45 - Finally home. Kids in bath. On the phone with parents.

9:00 - Kids still in bath. Still on phone with parents. Good Friend comes over.

9:01 - Hang up with parents. Get kids out of bath. Good Friend plays with kids.

9:30 - Good Friend goes home.

9:35 - Kendall is in bed an hour and half after her bed time.

9:40 - Put in a movie for Cason.

9:45 - Shower for me.

9:55 - Remember that I never ate dinner. Eat dinner.

10:00 - Watch The Office.

10:04 - Remember that I did eat dinner at the baseball game. Oh well.

10:30 - Get in bed. Sleep.

11:15 - Colin finally gets home. Have conversation with him that I can't recall today.

I'm still exhausted today. And our minister won the trip to NYC. Go Randy! I wonder if he'll take my kids with him so I can have some free time.

Thanks for the votes and the advice regarding my last post. I will be back shortly with your regularly scheduled blog. Until then, I need you to vote on something else. I'm sure all my OKC peeps have already seen this, but for those of you that haven't, one of our ministers at church needs your vote.

Randy Roper is a finalist in a contest to go root on the Thunder in the NBA draft (They need all the help they get and quite frankly, who better than a minister?). Please go vote for his logo, "Gonna Wear my Thunderwear in Times Square" so he can go root on the Thunder as they (prayerfully) select Blake Griffin.

VOTE HERE! VOTE NOW!!

Thanks all!! I promise not to ask you to vote on anything for awhile from now on....

Ok, so I didn't get those ebay shoes for Kendall. It wasn't so much that I didn't get them as it was that someone else did. I kept hoping that that someone read my blog and decided to buy them and send them to me. But so far....no.

So I was at Old Navy today and saw the cutest outfit ever (pictured above). Ok, maybe not the cutest ever. But cute. And of course, I bought it. But then immediately started regretting it. Why? Well, it was $15 a piece. That's $45 for the math impaired. Incidentally, the ensemble was much cheaper online. Which irks me. I am irked (bonus points if you can name that movie). But whatever, I would have to pay for shipping. And by buying the outfit I have like no money left for the rest of the month. Booo.

But it's so dang cute, y'all.

So, here's the dealio. You get to vote on whether or not I keep it or return it. And Liz, you can't vote to keep it and hope that Anna gets it. If I keep it, I will be consigning this sucker. In addition to voting, please leave me comments with your opinion. I, like Obama, cannot make a decision without polling my public.
