Answer: When your tub looks like this when they get out. 
I think it would be easier to rip the tub out and install a new one than to try and clean this.

Seriously, though, what were they doing that got them so dirty?!
I thought that the time I used the black hair color spray on Sophy for Halloween. Man the tub took forever to clean after that!
Which is why, in summer, it makes more sense to just bath them in the backyard using a garden hose. Try it!
Jess, they went to the softball field with Colin. Which was under water.
And Cheri, this WAS after a hose down. Yikes!
And I JUST cleaned the tub and it is now in pristine condition.
I used to tease my brother when I'd go to visit that I was going to have to blowtorch the bathtub so I could even take a shower, much less a bath. Your's is at least fresh dirt in the tub. Believe me that is way easier to clean than a grown single man's tub. But I sure know how you feel.
