..or is it AN historic day. I don't know. I slept through English class (sorry Mr. Harris).
But as you all know, yesterday was historic. It was the day that will forever be known as the day when it was ok to wear a completely inappropriate pair of boots to your husband's inauguration as vice president.

I'm sorry, Jill Biden, but WHAD UP WIT DAT? Whether or not you have the body/personality to carry it off is beside the point. I just don't feel like a look that says, "Yeah, I've got like an inaugeration thingy for a little bit but then I'd be TOTALLY up for some clubbin' " is appropriate.
Our house was built in the sixties. There has only been one owner besides us. When we moved in, they had left some very expensive, very sixties drapes. We trashed them. I felt bad about until yesterday when I realized that Michelle Obama had found them and used them to make a dress:
And before you get on your high horse thinking, "OMG, Emily is SO partisan," please know that I kind of liked Michelle's inaugural ball gown.
Here's to four years of questionable fashion.
That's right. I said four.

hahahahahahahahaha brilliant.
AMEN! What's up with the green shoes? It might just be me, but I feel like they not match? I wouldn't wear a yellow dress with green shoes, but that's just me and I'm not the First Lady.
It is sooo nice to have a fresh perspective on this event (even if it is on the fashion) and to laugh when appropriate. Here people almost cry with emotion when they talk about the big event...
This was (BY FAR) my favorite recap of yesterday. By far. Hands down.
Love it! Makes you wonder what in the world were they thinking and who would let you walk outside looking like that!
I know it was like, cold and stuff, but something about Biden's long overcoat and leather glove combination had a very "Godfather" feel to it. Don't be surprised if McCain wakes up with a horse's head in his bed this morning.
You are too funny!
I'm with OK Chick on the shoes. Oh, by the way, the color of the dress is not "yellow" it is "lemon grass," according to the Houston Chronicle, who still has not come off its cloud nine over the whole Obama thing. There have been numberous references this year to the Michelle/Jackie Kennedy fashion icon possibilities. The Liberals just can't get over the "Camelot" sixties. And they think the Republicans live in the past! Thanks, Emily for reminding us that it might just last 4 years.
First, I had an English teach named Mr. Harris.
Second, I said THE SAME exact thing about the yellow dress (except I didn't actually own the drapes first). Along w/ the green shoes she also had matching green leather gloves...
Aubrey, I read that the shoes and gloves were from JCrew. At least the First Lady knows where to shop, or someone paid by the government knows where to shop. HA! I still don't get the green with the "lemon grass."
