God teaches me patience...Or...Job never drove in traffic
Posted by Emily at Tuesday, August 19, 2008In the car, pouring down rain, racing to get where I'm going on time, at a red light, these words were yelled out loud:
"Let's go! Oh come on!"
...by my two and a half year old.
Thanks God. Got the message. It wasn't subtle, was it?

That's hillarious! Love it!
humbling.
to say the least.
(I have been there also)
That was great!!
I think he's channeling his Uncle Adam at a similar age behind a woman stopped for too long at a red light:
"Go, Lady!!!"
Ha, that s so funny. My son does the same thing!
Ever since Ruth learned about Red and Green lights she thinks that it is her job to keep us all safe. I can be braking as I approach the light and I will hear, "Mom, mom stop! The light is red!" Oh yeah, and she asks me if she can drive when she turns 5....
Ok, wow, I am so STUPID...I kept thinking "I wonder if Emily knows she put Job instead of God..." but then it just hit me JOB! From the Bible! wow...that's God's way of telling me I need to read the Bible...
angela, you make me laugh.
Out of the mouths of babes...
When Chris was little, he started calling people "Idiot!" When Mike heard him, he was shocked (Chris was 3 years old) and asked him where he heard THAT word!
"That's what Mamma calls the people in other cars" was his reply.
Let's just say a) I got a glare from Mike and b) I had to rethink my traffic rants.
You will really enjoy the period when he takes Drivers Ed and points out every single infringement by book, chapter, verse. At least then you can wield your "power" by withholding the keys when he wants to drive...
