I swear, Oklahoma has the wackiest weather. We were sitting in a restaurant, enjoying some excellent Mexican food with friends, when we heard that there was a storm headed our way. I guess when you hear that it should be translated, "Scream! Run! Stay put! Hide! Drive home immediately at the fastest speed possible! Don't freak out! Panic!"
By the time we got home, it was raining. Ten minutes later it was hailing, to say the least. You know what's always fun? When the kids over at channel 5 weather are yelling your address as the center of the storm. That's the second time that happened this year.
Colin's windshield got cracked in about six places before we got his truck inside. That's neat. Our roof is shot. Also neat.
I know some of you that just started reading this blog are thinking, "Wow, that's pretty bad for Colin and Emily." You have no idea. You can read about some of our other weather adventures here, here, and here. Oh, and here. Those that have been reading for awhile are thinking, "Shut up about the friggin ice storm already."
If we saved them, could Colin use them as golf balls?
Wow, that's crazy. Shut up, I know I said that already. It's just, wow... isn't that CRAZY?!
Wow, isn't that....well, crazy again? Stop laughing at me...I'm not a dang English major, y'all.
And now you can all go about your day feeling sorry for us that we have to put up with this weather. Go ahead. Feel bad for us. If you feel badly enough to donate to our "new windshield fund," we have a pay pal account and you may feel free to put some money in it.

Yup, just saw the tornados in OK on the evening news so I'd say, fortunate you only got the shot roof, damaged windshield and some great photos of the poor man's hockey field! Not to NOT be sympathetic but having grown up in Lubbock and having made it to adulthood in tornado alley, we learn to pick our poison.
Glad you are okay. Glad your family is okay.
I'll say a novena for your windshield and roof....
(just kidding....)
So last night I'm talking to Liz and she says "where does Emily live in MWC? The storm is right there and I don't know where she lives!".
My response?
"I'm not sure, but I'm seriously going to kick some channel 5 butt if they don't show Grey's."
Then I proceeded to gripe about the weather coverage all night, not even thinking about the people who live on the east side of I-35. I'm a terrible friend.
If it helps, we didn't have a cracked windshiled but still hail damage a couple weeks ago on John's car. He'd be happy to look at it for you and find an economical way to fix it...that's the beauty of an insurance man!
Just glad you still have a house!
As a professional writer, I have to give you mad props for a great blog headline!
YUCK! We didn't even get hit with anything until after midnight. Hope the roof damage isn't too bad.
See Emily! I'm a better friend than Jessica. I made sure to call HER to make sure YOU were okay. I mean, sometimes I amaze myself with how compassionate I am to others.
Then I threw an enormous Cason-size tantrum at freakin' Rick Munchead for interupting my alone time with McDreamy.
Hey Emily! This is Sarah Tanner (Ratcliff) I came across your blog, and i read it everyday!! You crack me up! Your kids are adorable! I havent seen Cason in a long time and he's gotten so big! I blog too, but I'm still trying to figure it all out, and make time to do it!
